Tiffaney & Glenn are Married!

This last weekend, I had a blast documenting Tiffaney & Glenn’s big day! The couple had some amazing family and friends, which made their wedding day special & the reception a blast! I was able to get some amazing shots throughout the day, like the one of their first kiss! DSC_0298-Edit copy

Or the one below, which is one of my favorite photo’s  from the wedding, because the bride made the bouquet for her matron of honor, who was also her older sister & best friend! The bouquet on the left belongs to the matron of honor and on it is a picture of her heart baby, Anikka, who passed away from Congenital Heart Defects, or CHD. The brides bouquet on the right, had a heart pin that belonged to her mother & was her something borrowed!

Erik & Chelsea are Married!

Summer got off to a nice start with the Duran wedding! That’s right, I said “Duran” wedding, but this time it was my brother & (now) sister in-law, Erik & Chelsea!

This photo is one of my absolute favorites, because it is the first time Chelsea’s dad saw her, before giving her away!

Week #6: Portrait/Bokeh

Sorry for my long absence from the photography world! I had all the best intentions for finishing my weekly photography assignment list, but life got in the way (i.e. finishing my degree). I will FINALLY finish up the additional assignments now that I have more free time!

However, I did manage to sneak in one photography assignment, but it is out of numerical order. I completed the assignment  for week #6: portrait/ bokeh (blur)! I had the pleasure to work with a former client (bride) in completing this assignment.

So here it is— Week #6: Portrait/Bokeh

DSC_0548DSC_0556

I shot in aperture priority mode for this session. I tried to keep the subject in focus, while blurring the background. I used Lightroom for basic image editing ( mostly lighting, because it was an overcast day). I would have to say the first two images were my most successful in achieving the goals of this project. Overall, I would give this assignment a B!

Week #1: Shooting in Apertute Mode

I finally completed assignment #1: shooting in aperture mode! I wanted to capture the blue shadow that was cast along the wall by the blue bottles. By shooting in aperture mode I was able to do just that!Image

I spent a total of 20 minutes working with the different aperture settings, adjusting the lighting, and capturing these images. I had to shoot these images with an ISO around 400-600 and a shutter speed of 1/100. Overall, I was pleased with this assignment.

Wish me luck for Assignment #2: Shooting in Manual Mode!

Trial & Error: My 6 Week Photographic Experiment

Trial & Error:

In an attempt to improve my photography skills I am going to build my own 6 week Photography curriculum, which will require me to try & complete different photography assignments. I plan on enlisting the help of some models (hint, hint, wink, and wink)—more details will unfold with each project. Through this experience I expect to encounter some trial and error, because these projects are an experiment. However, I hope to learn a lot from this experience!

In the table below I have mapped out the week (column #1) and the project (column #2). Each project will be guided by an online tutorial, article, or instructional guide—that site will be listed in the 3rd column.

NEXT WEEK IS WEEK #1.

Happy Viewing!
